SteamOS compatibility, Proton, anti-cheat and what to expect from HLL Vietnam on Deck hardware.
Official screenshot — Hell Let Loose: VietnamSteam Deck owners searching "can you play Hell Let Loose: Vietnam on Steam Deck" want a straight answer: the Steam page lists Windows 10/11 only — there is no native Linux build and no official Steam Deck Verified or Playable rating at launch. Here's the full picture.
Steam Deck runs SteamOS, a Linux-based system. Without a native Linux build, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam would need to run through Valve's Proton compatibility layer. At launch, Valve had not published a compatibility rating, and there were no verified community reports in our sources yet.
Two things make this one trickier than average for the Deck. First, it's a demanding Unreal Engine 5 title — the recommended spec targets 60 FPS at 1440p with an RTX 3060-class GPU, so expect heavy compromises on Deck hardware. Second, it's an online multiplayer game with server-side anti-cheat; online-only shooters sometimes refuse to run under Proton, so even a Playable rating wouldn't guarantee a smooth online experience on Deck.
